Situated street-side, the Princes on Dowling Restaurant offers the perfect vantage point to take in the sights of central Dunedin, whilst sampling a tasty menu showcasing fresh produce from the Mainland. Or you may choose to unwind by the gas fireplace in our lounge bar which has its own bar menu and a large screen TV, perfect for those sports games which draw fanatic support from the locals.

Our menu features some very tempting local food and wine including some of the very finest Pinot Noir from Central Otago to complement your selections.

This season’s Home Grown Dishes have been created by our talented chef  Sandro Lobao. Sandro specialises in South American cuisine and has amassed wealth of creative experience in his 29 year career.

Perfect to share. Showcasing Southland Hereford Beef Picanha, Lamb Rump & Pork Calabrezza Sausage. A must try combination from the grill, served with corn ribs, Duck fat and herb roasted potatoes and special Chimichurri sauce.

Layered Spiced Pumpkin & Walnut Mousse – $15.00
Dessert (Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free)
Full flavoured vegan dessert, combining crushed cookies, pumpkin mousse and coconut whipped cream. Finished with caramelised coconut sugar walnuts.

Princes on Dowling Restaurant is located at Scenic Hotel Dunedin City, situated street-side on the corner of Princes and Dowling Street. There are two large parking buildings located on Moray Place less than 5 minutes walk from the restaurant. Locals and visitors to Dunedin are welcome to dine at the restaurant – avoid disappointment by making a booking in advance.

Opening hours: Open 7 days a week for Breakfast (6.30am to 10.00am) and Dinner (6pm to 9pm)
