Hotel Location, Parking & EV Charging

Hawke’s Bay is one of the first places in the world to see the light each day, with our Napier hotel enjoying a premium waterfront location on Marine Parade. Napier is world renowned for being an excellent living example of the Art Deco architectural period and draws visitors from near and far. The Hawke’s Bay region has also gained fame for its abundant culinary and viticultural delights. Rich in horticulture and viticulture, the region produces some of the finest wines and foods in New Zealand.

A fresh, contemporary style hotel, Scenic Hotel Te Pania is just a short stroll from Napier’s main art deco style street and is located in close proximity to many of Napier’s attractions. Free onsite parking is available at the rear of the hotel (access from Byron Street). We also have two eV charging stations available (Type 2 plugs), charging fees apply and guests can use their own charging cable or use one of the hotel’s cables* – find out more on our eV charging page.

* Type 1 and Type 2 cables are available from reception for hotel guest use only. Please note that a $250 bond will be placed on your account. This bond will be reserved once the charger is returned to reception. If the cable is not returned or it is damaged a $250 charge will be processed to your credit card on file.

Scenic Hotel Te Pania takes her namesake from the iconic statue of Pania, which sits just across the road from the hotel on the waterfront. A figure of Māori mythology, Pania is also known as ‘Pania of the Reef,’ and as a beautiful maiden, has come to be the symbol of Napier.

The hotel also embraces its exceptional location with the sweeping curve of its building to mirror the sweeping oceanscape of the Bay that it sits across from. Take a tour of the hotel.

Great Wine Capitals

Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand was recently named the 12th Great Wine Capital of the World, joining prestigious regions like Adelaide, Cape Town, and Verona. Known for its humble yet exceptional wine production, Hawke’s Bay has earned its place among the elite wine destinations globally.

The region’s diverse terroir, influenced by the sheltering Kaweka and Ruahine Ranges and the temperate Pacific Ocean, enables it to cultivate a wide variety of grape types, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Viognier.
