Scenic Hotel Te Pania takes her namesake from the iconic statue of Pania, which sits just across the road from the hotel on the waterfront. A figure of Māori mythology, Pania is also known as ‘Pania of the Reef,’ and as a beautiful maiden, has come to be the symbol of Napier.
